About Clockworks Design

About Clockworks
A few years ago, I found myself in a unique position. You see, I owned a dance studio for 13 years and before that I taught dance at another dance studio. Dance was my creative outlet, my passion, my life! I had been dancing since I was two and a half years old and it was a part of me. It was who I was! But then, that all changed...health issues made the decision for me that it was time to close that chapter of my life and for a new one to begin. One problem with that though...what would the next chapter be? Dance was all I had ever known!
I decided to take a leap and go back to school again but I needed to decide what I wanted to be when I grew up (round 2).
I started to evaluate my life and think about what I would like to do and I realized I have always had a passion for designing things, creating things and capturing things. Everyone who knows me knows I am always taking pictures too. So I did what made sense and I earned my degree in Graphic Design and along the way took as many photography classes as I absolutely could.
Before I had finished my degree, I was already being contacted for design and photography jobs and I knew then that my next chapter in life had begun.
I began my business "Clockworks Design" officially in 2013 and have loved each and every project I have worked on since then. I have been incredibly blessed with the most amazing clients that it blows my mind how far Clockworks Design has come and what is in store in the future as this business grows and grows.
There are two sides of my business. One is capturing memories to last a lifetime and the other is creating designs that will withstand time. If that is what you are looking for, you came to the right place!
I look forward to working with you to create unique and one of a kind items for you or your business. Whether it is logo & branding for your business, apparel design, portraits, home decor...you name it!
Let's get to work!
The Owner
Hi There!
My name is Jenny Westbrook and I am the Owner of Clockworks Design.
I have a degree in Graphic Design and absolutely love designing. I can be found designing at my computer and also often be found with a camera in hand capturing memories for other families as well as my own.
A little about my personal life...
I will start with the basics. I am married to an amazing man named Rob and we live in a small town in Missouri near Kansas City. I have 2 amazing children from a previous marriage and a new little one who was one of life's little unexpected surprises but not in the way you think.
My oldest is Jaylee. She is almost 20 years old and attends Pittsburg State University where she majors in Education. She is an amazing woman and I cannot believe I am blessed to be not only her mother but her friend.
My now, middle child is Jayke. He turned 16 and hit the road. He is a sports nut so we are always busy attending football games, baseball games, soccer games, and wrestling matches. He is a gentleman and I cannot wait to see what lies ahead in his future.
My youngest is Walker. He keeps us all on our toes and was Gods little unexpected surprise...I'll explain more later. Walker is 3 and a sports lover. I believe he thinks he is a teenager but we have a few years til that happens.
If everything happens as planned... The year 2021 will be a super busy one.
All of my children will be graduating. One from college, one from High School and one from Kindergarten. Not many parents can say that!
So on with my story....."The best things in life happen unexpectedly." Words I now live by.
Over the past few years I have learned that God has a plan for our lives...I have not just learned this lesson but I have been beat over the head with it.
You see, in 2009 my world began to turn upside down in multiple ways. I won't bore you with the details but I can tell you I was dizzy and from my home, family life, career, business, education and personal life...it would all change forever whether I was ready or not. Fast forward to 2013. I would close my dance studio, get married, have another surgery, finish college and open Clockworks Design. Fast Forward even further to 2015 and the most unexpected thing ever happened to our family. I babysat. Yes, that's right...I said yes to babysit a 4 month old baby boy. He never went back. We became his foster family and then in September of 2017 he became our son. What a huge life change that we never saw coming. My life went full circle. After losing my dad who had adopted me and was my mom and dad all wrapped up in one to now adopting this little guy...it is still just crazy to me. But a crazy I would never ever trade for everything in the world. He was a missing puzzle piece we never knew we were missing!
I love my life and am beyond blessed to have gotten to this point in my life. I thank my husband for believing in me and thank you to my dad in heaven for loving me the way he did, for teaching me to keep fighting through the hard times and most of all to love unconditionally. I am the mom I am because he was my dad. His legacy lives on in all 3 of my children and for that I could not be more thankful.
